Why we love Alterna
Alterna has been at the forefront of luxury, salon haircare since 1997, and was one of the first companies to embrace the philosophy of sustainable, environmentally friendly products that are free from ingredients such as parabens and synthetic dyes. Since then, the Alterna product range has expanded and along the way they have supported a number of charitable endeavours such as Wateraid.
We love that Alterna have put a level of thought and research into their line that is usually only reserved for skincare, and as a result we have a range of products available to help deal with all hair types and conditions. We also love the stylish packaging, which makes use of recycled materials and gives our bathrooms that salon-spa feel.

They have produced an effective range of shampoos, conditioners, styling products and treatments which nourish and care for the hair, while being kind to the user and the environment. Why their products work
Alterna are renowned for the innovative approach they take to formulation, so the best quality and most effective ingredients are used to create products which solve today’s haircare problems. An example of this innovation in product design is Enzymetherapy® a complex that Alterna developed to help the delivery of ingredients so that they absorb into the hair and scalp more easily.
Our hero product
Our hero product is Caviar Seasilk Oil Gel, a dual action product which can be used to simultaneously treat and style dry, damaged hair. Alterna developed their Caviar range in 2001 to help treat and care for hair that is affected by natural, chemical and environmental ageing. The key ingredients in this line are caviar, vitamin C and cytokines which provide the hair and scalp with omega-3 and anti-oxidants, and help improve microcirculation. The Oil Gel can be used on damp hair before styling to provide texture, and also on dry hair to provide shine and prevent frizz by smoothing the hair cuticle flat.
